The Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation is an independent, non-profit educational and credentialing organization for the door and access systems industry. IDEA's mission is to advance public safety and serve in the public interest by promoting and recognizing professionalism in the door, gate, and access system industry through education, accreditation, and certification.

IDEA Certified Residential Door Systems Technician

The Residential Door Systems Technician Certification is a distinction earned through IDEA's Residential Installer Training and Certification program, which is designed to give professional door systems dealers an upper hand in the labor market, to enhance the professionalism of the industry, and to create career paths for individuals seeking a rewarding and long-term career.

IDEA Certified Automated Gate Systems Designer

Created by a coalition of industry leaders from the American Fence Association, the International Door Association, the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association, the National Ornamental and Miscellaneous Metals Association, and administered by the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation, the Automated Gate Systems Designer Certification program aims to recognize those in the industry who have an exceptional level of expertise. By earning this certification, customers can have confidence that their automated gate system will be designed to meet codes and standards for safety, maximize security, and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.

IDEA Certified Automated Gate Operator Installer

In working with multiple industry leading organizations, IDEA established the Automated Gate Operator Installer Certification program as a way to validate the credentials of individuals who have the experience and skills in the installation and servicing of automated gate systems. The purpose of this program is to promote the safety awareness and professionalism of the gate operator installers.

IDEA Certified Commercial Door Systems Technician

IDEA Commercial Door Systems Technician Certification is available for qualified individuals. The prestigious designation is earned by demonstrating a high level of expertise regarding the products, accessories, and installation and servicing methods associated with commercial door systems.

IDEA Certified Rolling Steel Fire Door Technician

There are no restrictions on who may install or service a fire door. That does not mean that technician expertise isn't an essential element of a safely and properly functioning fire door. The Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation established the Rolling Steel Fire Door Technician Certification program to validate the credentials of individuals who have experience and skills in the installation and service of rolling steel fire doors.

American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM)

The American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers is a trade association of power-operated automatic door manufacturers established in 1994 to raise public awareness about automatic doors and administer a program to certify automatic door inspectors.
